A Family Trust was looking to dispose of a trophy asset in West Los Angeles that hadn’t been on the market for over 30 years. There were four trustees involved. Two of the four trustees weren’t interested in selling the asset and two were. The two that weren’t interested in selling didn’t want to pay capital gains tax and didn’t know what alternatives there might be.
Marc initially met with all the Trustees to understand what their challenges were and what the Trust was looking to achieve. Upon the first meeting, Marc took the time to understand their challenges and concerns, present solutions, and meet again to finalize potential outcomes. On the second meeting, Marc provided solutions such as sell carry back financing and a 1031 tax deferred exchange. In addition, he presented a price range of where the trophy asset will sell.

  • Trust achieved 68.86% more net income through a 1031 tax deferred exchange
